                                  Band Jam Philanthropy Concert

Every fall, Texas Spirits---a spirit, service, and social organization on the UT campus---hosts their annual philanthropy event, Band Jam.  As a charity concert, Band Jam sponsors the Make-A-Wish Foundation where all proceeds go to Make-A-Wish.  Since 1995, Band Jam has continued to generate considerable funds towards this foundation.  As an example, in the year 2007 alone,  Band Jam raised a generous $20,000, enabling Make-A-Wish to grant five children their wishes.

This year, on Thursday, November 12, 2009, the Band Jam concert will take place at Aces Lounge located on 222 E 6th St in Austin, TX.  Starting at 9 PM, this concert will be an unforgettable experience that you will not only enjoy, but also an opportunity that the children of Make-A-Wish will be forever grateful.

                                             Make-A-Wish Foundation

Mission:

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work.  The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, and entire communities.

As the Foundation continues to mature, its mission will remain steadfast.  Wish children of the past, present, and future will have an opportunity to share in the power of a wish.

History:

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 174,000 children around the world.
